Just before sunrise, the temperature at Barkley Field slipped to 51 degrees. It hasn't been that cool in Paducah since 1985.
The lower humidities have been remarkable, too. Forecasters say the dew point (a measure of air pressure and humidity) will remain below 60 through Saturday morning, which will be a stretch of almost 125 consecutive hours. That hasn't happened here in June since 1955.
But, all things must come to an end, and typical summer humidity returns this weekend with temperatures in the high 80s.
Also returning is the chance for daily rain, including Fathers Day with some intense thunderstorms possible and a couple of inches or more in spots.
