Registration Underway For Citizens Police Academy
By Paducah Police/Easton Sanders
PADUCAH - The Paducah Police Department is taking applications for their Citizens' Police Academy.

The Citizens' Police Academy is a free program for anyone 18 or older that live in the area.

Those who attend get to experience similar training to what police officers receive.  They will see presentations from the department's K9 units, bomb squad, SWAT team, and others.  Attendees will also get to participate in mock crime scene investigations, and visit a firearm range.

The classes are held on Tuesday nights for 7 weeks with a limited class size.  The deadline for applicants is September 6, with classes beginning on September 17 through November 5 at 6 PM.
