An event on Saturday is designed to inform friends and family members of veterans and help prevent suicides.

Project Die Hard and Four Rivers Behavioral Health are sponsoring the QPR Gatekeeper training event on March 9 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Free Spirit Biker Church, 2380 John Puryear Drive in Paducah.

The event will teach how to spot the signs and systems of a veteran who may be contemplating suicide, and how to intervene.

Tickets for the event are $22 and include lunch, with room for about 80 people to attend.

Project Die Hard says statistics show that 22 veterans each day will take their own life.
