If you're looking for something to do in Paducah today, here are several options that have been passed along to West Kentucky Star:

The Downtown Farmer's Market is open from 7:30 am - 1:00 pm, featuring a variety of local, homegrown products-- including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, and dairy products, artisan and baked goods, and good eats from local food vendors. The market is located at North Second and Monroe Streets in historic downtown Paducah.

The Paducah Parks & Recreation presents the free Noble Park Fish Out Tournament for kids 5 to 12 years old at Lake Gerry Montgomery in Noble Park. Children may use their own pole and bring their own bait, or they may borrow a pole and bait from Paducah Parks & Recreation while supplies last. A fishing license is not needed since it is free fishing weekend on June 1-2 in Kentucky. Registration begins at 8:30 am at Shelter 10 (across the road from Noble Park Pool). Fishing is from 9 - 11 am, with an awards ceremony afterwards.

The Summer Reading Challenge Kickoff Event is Saturday at McCracken County Public Library. Registration begins Saturday and the library has partnered with ReadSquared to give patrons the ability to track their progress online and through a mobile app. This year's summer reading theme, "Summer of Space," celebrates 60 years of NASA's achievement in space exploration and 50 years since the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. The program is eight weeks long, and geared for  anyone from birth through adult. A Summer Reading Liftoff event will be held at the library on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The all-day festival features pop up putt-putt in Dolly McNutt Plaza, a DJ and dancing in the library garden, lawn games, face painting, a yoga class, a bike ride, a pop up makerspace from Sprocket and more.  Local organizations will be on hand with their own activities and giveaways for attendees.

Carraige rides are availible to transport people between sites for $5 per person. Afterwards, the artists will gather for an exhibition of their work at a Lowertown studio on 720 Harrison Steet. The paintings will be judged and awarded prizes. Light refreshments will be served.
