Donald I. Shively has been named Superintendent of Paducah Public Schools by the Paducah Board of Education.
Shively has been an educator for seventeen years. In 2011 he was hired to be Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Programs for Paducah Public Schools. He was employed as principal at Ballard Memorial High School from 2004 to 2011.
Shively began his career at Paducah Tilghman High School, filling multiple roles there from 1997 to 2004. While at Tilghman, Shively was a chemistry, physics, and integrated science teacher, coordinator of the Science Department, member of the School Based Decision Making Council, assistant football coach, athletic director, and assistant principal.
“Mr. Shively is a valued leader in this school district,” said Superintendent Dr. Randy Greene. “As I have worked with him over the past three years, I have found that he always maintains and encourages high expectations and has the well being of our district first and foremost in his mind.”
Shively will assume his duties following the retirement of Dr. Randy Greene on June 30.
