A man suspected of committing several crimes in Paducah and McCracken County over a two-week period was in court on Tuesday.

According to the McCracken County District Court Clerk, Juan Diego Herrera appeared before the judge, who entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. Herrera faces five counts of robbery 1st degree, and one count each of burglary 1st degree, attempted burglary 2nd degree, assault 2nd degree and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

The court clerk said Herrera's preliminary hearing and continued first appearance are scheduled for 9 am on November 5.

The charges stem from a investigations by Paducah Police and McCracken County Sheriff's Detectives into six different incidents that took place between October 4 and 21. Witness accounts and other evidence led officers to believe Herrera was responsible for all of them, and investigators say he admitted his involvement in the crimes.

Herrera is still in McCracken County Jail. The jail website shows U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has detained Herrera in addition to his bond, which is set at $100,000.
