The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded about 2 am to property on Schneidman Road after getting a call for a theft in progress. When they arrived, two people said they caught a man stealing a generator, and when he was confronted, the man assaulted them. One victim sustained minor injuries and the suspect was able to flee the scene with the generator on an ATV.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 30-year-old Anthony Adkins of Paducah. They went to his Oaks Road home with a search warrant and found evidence of the robbery, including the generator.
Detectives are looking for Adkins, who is also a suspect in other thefts. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 270-4444-8550.
