Thanksgiving Meals Meet Need, Give Chance to Serve

WESTERN KENTUCKY - Churches and organizations that provide a Thanksgiving meal to those who are alone or in need are a huge service to the community, and also a chance for people to volunteer in their communities. Here is our list of locations providing a meal:

Thursday, November 22

* Free 21st Annual Thanksgiving Feast at Martha's Vineyard, 1100 North 12 Street in Paducah, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Anyone who would enjoy good food, fellowship and gospel music on Thanksgiving Day is welcome. Deliveries are available - call the Telephone Answering Service at 270-441-2339 to order. This event, like all others at Martha's Vineyard, is supported by community donations of time, food, and labor. Anyone wishing to help greet, serve, deliver, or clean up should call 270-575-0021.

* Free Thanksgiving meal at McNabb Elementary School, 2100 Park Ave. from 11 am - 1 pm in their cafeteria. Volunteers to help serve, clean up, etc. can call the school 270-444-5750. 

* The Community Kitchen in the 1200 block of Kentucky Avenue and Broadway will serve Thanksgiving Dinner from 11-1 pm Thanksgiving Day. This is their 4th year to serve on this holiday. They serve the noon meal five days a week throughout the year as a service to those in need.

* Free Thanksgiving Free Thanksgiving Feast at First Assembly of God, 111 North Sutton Lane in Mayfield from noon - 2:00 pm. Deliveries are available by calling the church at 270-274-5677, ext. 113.
