The Paducah Tilghman High School teacher and cheerleading coach facing a charge of evidence tampering pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.

Court records show 43-year-old David Wade entered a not guilty plea in a McCracken County courtroom to one felony count of tampering with physical evidence.

That charge was filed after police got a complaint from several cheerleaders about a lewd video they reportedly received from Wade.

Police say their investigation determined that Wade initially tried to hide his phone, and had deleted the video. He had also allegedly asked the girls who received the message to delete it. Wade reportedly acknowledged he sent the message, but also told detectives he did not intend to send it to the students.

Detectives said they are consulting with the Commonwealth's Attorney to determine if Wade will face more charges.
