Centre Fellow candidates must rank in the top five percent of the junior class, must be enrolled in a strong college preparatory curriculum, must have at least a 28 on the ACT, must exhibit outstanding citizenship in the school and community, and should possess a sincere interest in a liberal arts and sciences education. Chua, Criner, Garcia, and Kelly were nominated by Paducah Tilghman High School.
Centre Fellows receive a $22,000 minimum guaranteed scholarship per year at Centre College. Centre Fellows are eligible for additional merit awards. The Centre Fellows Scholarship Program's aim is to recognize and reward some of the nation's brightest, most involved high school juniors.
“The Centre Fellows program marks the beginning of the merit scholarship process for these four outstanding students,” said Sid Hancock, College Counselor. “Ryan, Kate, Paulo, and Erin exhibit a commitment to the highest academic standards, and it’s exciting that they are already being recognized and rewarded. Given their impressive bodies of work and established work ethics, I know they will enrich their future college campuses.”
