The work zone is in the same area that has been in place since June 1, but traffic is now in the right lane while contractors work along the left side of the westbound lanes from near mile marker 5 between the Lone Oak and Mall exits and extending to near mile marker 3 between the Cairo Road exit and the Ohio River Bridge.
Once work on the westbound side of the interstate is done, a similar work zone and restriction will be put in place on the eastbound lanes.
All work is supposed to be completed by August 1.
