A traffic stop early Tuesday morning led to the arrest of three people on drug charges.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, at around 1:20 am, deputies stopped a vehicle on Lakewood Drive for driving without headlights. The deputy said he smelled marijuana coming from inside the car.

The driver, 31-year-old Matthew Stice of Paducah, was driving on a suspended license. Stice, along with his passengers, 25-year-old Devin Bell, and 37-year-old Stacey Lear, both of Paducah, were searched. Two separate baggies of methamphetamine were found on Bell.

A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine under the driver’s seat, as well as items of drug paraphernalia in other areas of the car. All three subjects were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

All three were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stice was also charged with driving on a DUI suspended license, failure to illuminate headlights and no tail lights.
