A traffic stop early Saturday morning led to a Paducah woman's arrest on methamphetamine charges.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says at approximately 1:30 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for registration violations on Wayne Sullivan Drive. Deputies said the driver, 28-year-old Amanda Powell of Paducah, was found to be driving on a suspended license.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies allegedly found crystal methamphetamine, a digital scale and other items consistent with the sale of illegal drugs. Powell was taken into custody and lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.

She's charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance, operating on a suspended license and no registration plates.
