The tree donation ceremony has been moved to inside the Paducah Parks Services Department conference room, 1400 H.C. Mathis Dr. today at 1:30 pm.

Fluor Corporation and teaming partners LSRS and Chicago Bridge & Iron are donating more than 500 red maple trees to the City as a tribute to Earth Day.  Representatives from Fluor and the City of Paducah will be in attendance.

Parks Services Director Mark Thompson says, “Tree planting partnerships such as this with Fluor positively impact the City’s environment, beauty, and budget.”

Cory Hicks, spokesperson for Fluor, says, "Fluor and our teaming partners are committed to improving the environment around us, and we are excited to partner with the City on this endeavor."

The trees will be planted at various parks across the city to help implement an underplanting program to provide new growth for future generations.

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated internationally on April 22.
