Two people were arrested on numerous charges after a traffic stop in Paducah on Monday.

According to the Paducah Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle on Bridge Street, reportedly after noticing the vehicle had expired registration plates.

While performing the traffic stop, officers say a backseat passenger jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers say the driver, 27-year-old Zachary A. Bonn, also got out of the vehicle and was uncooperative.

K9 officer Junior arrived on the scene and allegedly indicated that drugs could be in the vehicle. Officers say a search of the vehicle uncovered a blunt.

A short time later, law enforcement officials allegedly found the passenger, and identified him as 27-year-old Michael S. Wright. Wright allegedly told officers he ran because of a parole violation warrant.

Wright is being charged with possession of marijuana, expired registration plates, failure to produce an insurance card, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. Bonn is being charged with second degree fleeing or evading, and on a warrant charging him with parole violation.

They were arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
