Two people were arrested after a police pursuit Saturday night through Illinois and Kentucky.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies joined Brookport Police officers shortly after 9 p.m. in a pursuit coming over the Brookport Bridge into McCracken County. Deputies intercepted the vehicle as it turned onto Coleman Road using stop sticks.

The driver, 52-year-old Roger Cummins of Harrisburg, IL made his way onto the westbound lanes of I-24 while continuing to flee from deputies. He crashed and overturned in a ditch after exiting and running down an embankment.

Cummins was arrested and booked into McCracken Regional Jail on charges of DUI, first degree wanton endangerment, first degree fleeing or evading, second degree hindering apprehension, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, no registration tags, and no tail lamps.

A passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old Kimberly Towns of Ozark, IL was also arrested on active warrants from Kentucky and Illinois for failure to appear and being a fugitive from justice.
