The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says drug detectives and the sheriff spotted two people walking along a fence row on Division Street just before 1:30 pm, and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Detectives say when they spoke to 38-year-old Jonathan F. Meints and 32-year-old Nicole M. Fyffe, both of Paducah, it became apparent that they were under the influence of methamphetamine.
They were arrested for public intoxication, and a search of Meints reportedly revealed drug paraphernalia containing meth and marijuana, so he faces additional charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
It was also learned that Fyffe was wanted on two warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges, so she was served with the warrants.
Both people were taken to McCracken County Jail.
