The Purchase District Health Department has confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in McCracken County.

The positive cases were confirmed on Saturday, and are a 55 year-old woman and a 47 year-old woman. Both are in stable condition and are self-quarantined. The department is working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Kentucky Department for Public Health to identify and contact all those who may have been exposed.

McCracken County now has a total of sixteen reported positive cases of the virus since the first two reported cases on March 23.

The Purchase District Health Department offers these tips to help guard against further spread of the virus:

-Wash your hands often with soap and water

-Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

-Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

-Stay home when you are sick.

-Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

-Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
