Two Trunk-or-Treat Events Rescheduled for Today

If your child still has their costume and doesn't yet have enough candy, there are a couple of trunk-or-treat events today. Both events were rescheduled because of rain last weekend.

Metropolis Police are partnering with Fort Massac State Park and area businesses for a trunk-or-treat event starting at 4:30 pm in the park. After a costume contest, trunk-or-treating will start at 5 pm and continue until 7 pm. The event in the park will offer hot dogs, chips, popcorn, drinks and candy while supplies last.

Metropolis Police are also sponsoring a "Get Out of Jail" event at their trailer inside the park. For $1, anyone can get a "warrant" issued for another person, who will be taken to "jail," and must make a donation to be released. The Massac County Sheriff's Department will also be participating, and all money raised will go toward the family of the late Metropolis Fire Captain Chad Parker. 

In Paducah, Good Ol' Boys Motorcycle Riding Club is hosting a saddle bag trunk-or-treat from 5-8 pm at the group's clubhouse at 1923 Allen Street. Kids can play on an inflatable maze, and snacks and candy will also be available. 

Good Ol' Boys established their brotherhood in 2012 in an attempt to make a difference in the way the world looks at bikers. They actively supports local charities and attempts to put a positive face on the biker name. Their Facebook page says "We believe in God, family, and brotherhood, and would give the shirts off our backs to help others."
