A two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Union County, KY claimed the life of a Paducah woman.

According to Evansville's 14News.com the accident happened about 1 pm on U.S. Highway 60 near Sturgis.

Union County Coroner Stephen Shouse told WestKentuckyStar that 27-year-old Amy Abell Navrkal was driving the family car with her husband Michael as a passenger when they slowed to make a left turn and another driver attempted to pass on the left side. As Navrkal made her turn, her vehicle was hit in the driver's side.

Shouse said Navrkal's vehicle was pushed into a deep ditch where it rolled, and she was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Michael Navrkal was taken to Union County Methodist Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Shouse said the driver of the other vehicle was life-flighted to an Evansville hospital for treatment.

Navrkal's autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Madisonville. The Union County Sheriff's Department said their investigation is ongoing, and would not release any other details.

Shouse said the couple was running an errand to get tea for a Christmas gathering, and left their child at the party.
