“Taking good photographs is an art and we’re glad to have Jim Ethridge back to continue to teach another five-week class on the next steps in becoming a great photographer,” said Kevin O’Neill, WKCTC continuing education coordinator.
Ethridge owned and operated a portrait/wedding photography business for fifteen years. Photographs by Ethridge have been used in several books including: “Paducah, Kentucky: A Center for Culture and Commerce,”which celebrates the 65th Anniversary of the Paducah Chamber of Commerce and was published by Turner Publishing and “In Your Backyard,” an article in the fall 2001 issue of Nature Photographer Magazine. Ethridge has also won several local photography contests.
Intermediate Digital Photography will be held on July 9, 16, 23 and August 3 and 6. The course will be held from 6-8 pm in the Emerging Technology Center, room 112. A short field trip is planned to downtown Paducah on Tuesday, July 16, and to the Land Between the Lakes on Saturday, August 3.
To attend this course, participants should have already attended one of the previous Photographic Fundamentals classes or have a working knowledge of f-stop, shutter speed, ISO and composition.
The cost for the five classes is $90. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera. A specific type of camera is not required for the class.
