Jerry Walker's termination appeal with Paducah Public Schools has been denied.

According to termination hearing documentation, the tribunal hearing Walker’s appeal found that the district did establish adequate evidence that Walker’s termination was justified on the grounds of immoral conduct or conduct unbecoming a teacher.

In a June 12 termination letter, the following reasons for Walker's firing were given: having an intimate affair with a teacher in his building, planning a trip to Nashville through work email and filing a reimbursement claim for a track meet he didn’t attend on May 25.

The decision also says that Walker submitted an excessive expense reimbursement request for a school track meet in Louisville he claimed to attend. His presence at the event could not be confirmed however.

In its decision released Thursday, the tribunal questioned Walker’s credibility, the veracity of comments others made during the hearing and on his behalf.

Walker has 30 days to appeal the Tribunal's decision to McCracken Circuit Court.
