At the unveiling on September 5, the winner of the Small Shop Showdown contest was announced. Lisa Dunn of Paducah was selected, and her business, Lisa's Bridal, will be located in the 7,425 square foot space next to rue21 in the mall.
As part of her prize, she will also receive six months of free rent at the location beginning October 1 through March 30, and a package of promotional assistance to help get the business off the ground.
Dunn brings 18 years of experience in formal-wear to the table and will now be able to expand her existing business by relocating to the Kentucky Oaks Mall location. The store will offer a unique take on ladies formal-wear, selling wedding gowns, dresses for bridesmaids, flower girls, mother of the bride, as well as homecoming and prom dresses.
While there will be a wide selection of contemporary dresses, most will be priced 50 to 60 percent below typical retail price. Brides shopping at Lisa's Bridal will find dresses ranging from $50 through $1,500.
