A month-long surveillance operation in McCracken County netted a pair of burglary suspects, and led to an additional pair of drug arrests this week.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they began investigating the burglaries that occurred at a facility on Tharp Drive on August 15. Detectives were able to use surveillance equipment in the hour and on September 16 noticed the equipment had been recently tampered with and two men on bicycles were seen in the area.

Deputies arrived and said they noticed an SUV with two bicycles strapped on the roof leaving the area. They conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle which was occupied by 36-year Joshua Owen and 53-year-old Christopher Young, both of Paducah.

During the stop, other deputies went to the area of the storage units and noticed multiple locks had been cut and items had been placed outside of the units. They said they obtained video of Young and Owens on bicycles equipped with items commonly utilized in burglaries.

Authorities then executed a search warrant at Owen's residence on Lorine Ln in Paducah where detectives located 36-year-old Joseph Abbott of Paducah. Abbott was taken into custody after detectives discovered he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Detectives said they found quantity of methamphetamine and other drugs while searching the home as well as several items that were connected to the previous storage unit burglaries.

Deputies later arrested 37-year-old Natasha Gill of Paducah for possession of the narcotics located at the residence.

Young and Owens were charged with burglary, theft and various drug offenses.
