A Murray man was arrested Wednesday after an incident at the home of a woman he is acquainted with.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Department said that they arrested 36-year-old Derek A. Brashears on a warrant that was issued on Tuesday. Deputies said that Brashears had allegedly snuck into the home of a woman of his acquaintance. The woman is said to have awakened to find Brashears, before going outside where a verbal altercation took place. During that argument, Brashears is said to have broken her cell phone. He reportedly left the home before deputies could get there.

Deputies made efforts to contact Brashears, but those were not successful. The warrant was issued and Brashears was arrested just after midnight Wednesday.

Brashears is charged with burglary, stalking, and criminal mischief.
