One arrested in Dixon Springs State Park after incident

Dixon Springs State Park in southern Illinois was closed for a time on Friday due to an active police investigation. 

A large police presence was seen in the area located off IL-146 in Pope County. Illinois State Police assisted the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois Conservation Police with the incident.

The scene was secured around 5 p.m., and one subject was reportedly apprehended. No statement from law enforcement officials has been released.
