The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they received information alleging that 63-year-old John Sotelo of Bridge Street,Paducah was selling methamphetamine from a residence in Paducah.
Detectives were familiar with Sotelo from a previous investigation in which he was arrested and convicted of trafficking in meth in McCracken County in 2019.
As part of the investigation, detectives conducted a controlled purchase of meth from Sotelo. On February 4th, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at Sotelo’s residence. During the search, detectives located crystal meth, cocaine, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
During the search, Sotelo was transported to a local hospital due to a preexisting medical condition.
Sotelo was charged with two counts of trafficking in meth, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
