During its meeting Monday night, the Princeton City Council approved a grant to apply for Flock cameras to be placed at key city entrance points.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King said the cameras will enhance crime prevention, investigative efficiency and officer safety while maintaining privacy protections for residents.
King added the license plate reader technology will provide police with a proactive tool without having to hire more staff.
WPKY reported the cameras will cost the city $24,000 annually.
