The search continues for a North Carolina man believed to have jumped from the Cumberland River Bridge at Lake City.

Kentucky State Police said they got a call about a person possibly jumping from the bridge just below Barkley Dam on Tuesday, just after 3:15 p.m. The search began immediately as first responders, including rescue agencies from across the region, shut down the bridge between Livingston and Lyon counties and deployed boats and drones in the search.

Later, a vehicle was found abandoned along US 62 near Kentucky Dam in Marshall County. That vehicle was registered to 22-year-old Dakota Perry of Charlotte. Troopers spoke with witnesses and believe that Perry is the individual who may have jumped from the bridge.

The search and rescue operations continued Wednesday along the Cumberland. Meanwhile, KSP is asking anyone with information about Perry or his whereabouts to contact them at 270-856-3721.
