An officer-involved shooting on Friday in Paducah injured one man who later died from his injuries.

According to Kentucky State Police, three officers from the Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole arrived at a home on Marquess Drive to conduct a home visit of an individual under supervision.

Officers encountered 22-year-old Rayshawn Tucker, who was not the person associated with the home visit.

Officials said Tucker stabbed one of the officers with a knife, prompting the officer and fellow officers to fire their agency-issued weapons.

The shots struck Tucker, and he was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Two of the officers were taken to area hospitals, where they were treated and released.

Post 1 Mayfield requested the KSP Critical Response Team to investigate the shooting. Kentucky State Police have statewide jurisdiction to investigate officer-involved shootings.
