Three men have been arrested after an armed robbery investigation in Brookport.
Massac County Sheriff's deputies said responded to the foot of the Brookport Bridge on Saturday. Three juvenile victims told officers that they were confronted by three men on Strawberry Road, and that one of the men fired a pistol during the incident. One of the victims also said he had been beaten with a pistol during the alleged robbery.
A Metropolis police officer observed a vehicle matching the juveniles' description, and pulled it over near Huck's in Metropolis. Three men were arrested: 18-year-old Matthew Yates of Paducah, 21-year-old Malik Miller of Metropolis, and 19-year-old Samuel Kralis of Metropolis. Police also seized two guns that they believe were used in the alleged robbery.
Yates, Miller and Kralis were taken to the Massac County Detention Center, pending formal charges from the Massac County State's Attorney. The jail website shows Yates charged with robbery, while Miller and Kralis were charged with armed robbery.
Illinois State Police and Brookport Police also helped in the investigation.
