By West Kentucky Star Staff
GOLCONDA - Police have arrested a suspect in a recent investigation into a threat made to a student at a Pope County school.

Illinois State Police said they were contacted Tuesday by the school district about a vague anonymous threat sent to a student over the internet. Investigators said Wednesday morning they have identified and arrested a suspect in the case. Authorities did not identify the suspect, or the name of the school or the individual at whom the threat was directed.

Police assured parents and guardians that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure student safety, with troopers being posted Wednesday at the school throughout the day.
