Residents of Brookport will be able to enjoy higher quality water, as well as a higher water pressure thanks to $2.8 million in USDA Rural Development funding.
Rural Development's contributions through its Water and Waste Disposal program include a $1.7 million grant, plus a $1 million loan which will be paid off over 40 years.
The federal investment will allow the city to replace water hydrants, valves, and lines, as well as modify a vital interconnection and paint the water tower.
