Check Forgery Case Leads to Woman's Arrest

An investigation into forged checks and a stolen credit card led to the Wednesday arrest of a Metropolis woman.

The Metropolis Police Department says deputies got a report of forged checks on March 19. The identified 34-year-old Ashley Jenkins as the person they believed to have cashed the forged check. Jenkins was already wanted on a Massac County warrant on a Petition to Revoke Probation charge.

Metropolis Police officers located Jenkins inside a vehicle and took her into custody on the Massac County warrant.

During a search, Metropolis Police Officers reportedly found drug related items along with a check book and a debit card belonging to the victim in the forgery investigation.

Jenkins was additionally charged with possession of a credit card of another. The case was forwarded to the Massac County States Attorney for additional charges.
