On Saturday, the Massac County Sheriff's Office performed a traffic stop on a bicyclist near 9th and Ferry Street in Metropolis. The bicyclist was identified as 34-year-old Mark Edwards. Deputies say Edwards had a warrant out of Massac County for failure to appear.
During the arrest, deputies say they located a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Edwards was lodged in the Massac County Jail.
He is being charged with the warrant for failure to appear, and possession of methamphetamine.
