Police arrested a Metropolis man Saturday night on drug charges after a traffic stop.

The Metropolis Police Department says an officer stopped a vehicle at 11:28 p.m. for a traffic violation. A computer check of the driver, 45-year-old Ronald White, revealed his driver’s license was suspended. White also could not provide proof of insurance.

A search of White's vehicle reportedly revealed hydrocodone pills and methamphetamine.

White was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of open alcohol and failure to signal as required. He was booked into the Massac County Detention Center.
