Missing Metropolis Man Located Safe and Sound

A man reported missing by the Metropolis Police Department has been found.

Police notified the public Wednesday that 49-year-old James C. Wheeler II of Metropolis had last seen on June 7 in Paducah, and asked for help finding him. They updated their information Thursday morning, saying Wheeler had been located and was safe.

The Metropolis Police Department is seeking help from the public in locating a man reported missing. 

Police say 49-year-old James C. Wheeler II of Metropolis is listed in a couple of law enforcement databases as a missing mentally or physically disabled person. He was last seen on June 7 after being released from Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital, and was supposed to be going to River City Mission in Paducah.
