New Numbers In: Over 200 Homes Damaged

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency has just released new numbers on damage from the tornado.

David Searby of IEMA reported that combining Brookport and Massac County, there were 233 homes damaged, and the state placed them in four categories:

56 homes that were habitable without repairs needed,
74 habitable with a few repairs needed,
27 uninhabitable homes that need extensive repairs, and
76 that were a total loss, or not feasible to repair.

FEMA is expected to visit the area on Thursday to begin assessing damage.
