Two Metropolis residents were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend.

Metropolis Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of East Third Street on Friday. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been locked out of the home.  While officers were trying to diffuse the argument, 25-year-old Janica Scott struck the victim twice in the face.

Scott was arrested and charged with domestic battery.

On Saturday, officers were called to a home on Crestview.  The victim stated that 36-year-old Ryne Lee Collins had taken her phone and broken it. Collins had left the scene before police arrived, but was located a short time later. Collins was charged with theft over $500 and criminal damage to property.  He was also arrested on a warrant out of Massac County for burglary.

Both Scott and Collins were lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
