Two Face Charges After Traffic Stop in Metropolis

A traffic stop in Metropolis led to numerous charges for a Cypress pair.

On Thursday, the Metropolis Police Department performed a traffic stop on a vehicle after alleged traffic violations. Officers said a computer check revealed that the driver, 47-year-old Stanley Shinn, had a suspended driver's license and was not able to show proof of insurance.

Officers searched the vehicle and reportedly found drug paraphernalia.

While investigating, Officers also learned that the passenger, 46-year-old Shane M. Vinson, was holding an open can of beer.

Shinn is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and operation of an uninsured vehicle. Vinson is being charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol.
