Two drivers were hurt, and one was cited after a crash on I-24 Monday morning in southern Illinois.

The Illinois State Police says their preliminary investigation showed 26-year-old Christina Reed of Winchester, KY was driving west on I-24 near the 7 mile marker shortly after 9 a.m., escorting an oversized load driven by 26-year-old Dylan Lammers of Vienna.

Lammers didn't realize how fast he was going and hit Reed's vehicle in the rear. His vehicle came to rest partially in the passing lane. Reed's vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its side off of the roadway.

Lammers was treated on scene by ambulance staff for minor injuries. Reed was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The roadway remained open during the crash investigation.

Officers cited Lammers for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle.
