Storms produce damage in Eddyville

Storms that rolled through the area Thursday evening produced damage in and around Eddyville.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said they were called out after a roof lifted off a building on Main Street. Some of the roof debris ended up on the courthouse lawn and severl power lines were down.

A camper was blown over at Venture River Water Park. Nickel-sized hail was also reported in Eddyville.

The Lyon County Judge Executive’s Office said that several streets, including West Dale Avenue, West Main Street, and Trade Avenue, are closed because of debris and damage to other structures. They said that volunteers were not needed, and “for the safety of everyone and record keeping, we are unable to move anything at this time.”

The City of Eddyville announced on Thursday night that due to the damage in the area, City Hall would be closed on Friday. Venture River will also be closed Friday due to their storm damage.

Eddyville Family Medical, a part of the Livingston Hospital system, also suffered damage. They are asking patients with appointments to call Livingston Hospital or the Grand Lakes Clinic in Grand Rivers to reschedule.
