A magnitude 2.8 earthquake was reported along the New Madrid Fault Line Tuesday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the quake was centered one mile southeast of Steele in southeast Missouri, and 24 miles west of Dyersburg. It occurred at 3:07 pm CDT.

The USGS says that a quake of 2.5 is the threshold of humans being able to detect the ground shaking.
 
No damage has been reported from this earthquake.
