A small earthquake was recorded in southeast Missouri Saturday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis says the quake, at 2:15 am, measured 2.3 on the Richter scale.
 
The quake was centered near the community of Otis, which is about 16 miles south of Sikeston and about 34 miles west northwest of Union City.

No damage has been reported from this earthquake, and the USGS says quakes measuring below 2.5 usually can't be felt.
