A southeast Missouri man suspected of shooting a husband and wife is now in custody.

KFVS-TV reports that 33-year-old Rodney Joe Green was captured early Sunday after his car crashed during a chase. He is facing two counts each of robbery and armed criminal action.

Green is accused of shooting through the door of a rural Butler County home last week. The male resident was struck in the thigh and his wife shot in the hand. Both are expected to survive.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper spotted Green driving on a rural road around midnight Sunday. During the chase, Green's Dodge Neon went off the road and struck a utility pole and a tree.

He is jailed without bond.
