Calloway County Gets KY Grant for Road Treatment

Calloway County is among six counties in Kentucky that have been awarded grant funding for rubber-modified asphalt projects utilizing waste tires.

The county will receive $56,100 for the to use for chip seal or asphalt overlay on county roads. Chip seal is a road surface treatment that combines layers of asphalt with layers of fine aggregate and can extend the life of a road by four to eight years. 

On Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear and Energy and Environment Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Goodman announced that Hardin, Simpson,  McLean, Butler and Green counties would also receive funds totaling up to $482, 749.
