During his Thursday COVID-19 press conference, Governor Andy Beshear reported 50 new coronavirus cases, now at a total of 248 in Kentucky.

This includes two new cases in Christian County, and one new case in Calloway County. The 50 new cases marks the single largest day increase yet. As of Thursday there were no new deaths associated with the virus.

Beshear announced that he has asked county judge-executives and mayors to monitor park areas and to shut them down if people are not implementing social distancing within the parks.

Beshear says he expects to have a bigger formal announcement soon regarding the drive-through testing sites in the state.

He says that the state had a better week than last week with securing personal protective gear, having spent more than $8 million on the effort.
