Grimes: Tuesday's Voter Turnout Was 42 Percent

FRANKFORT - Unofficial results for yesterday's General Election reflect 1,455,161 ballots cast out of 3,451,537 registered voters.  

The earlier prediction by Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes of approximately 31 percent was exceeded, with turnout at approximately 42 percent.

The deadline to request a recanvass in any race is November 12 at 4 p.m. local time. Requested recanvasses will be conducted November 14 at 9 a.m. local time. 

The State Board of Elections is scheduled to certify vote totals for the General Election at 10 a.m. ET on November 21.
