After Governor Andy Beshear's Thursday update, the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet announced updates to the hours and services at Kentucky State Parks.

In the Thursday announcement, officials say beginning Friday, April 3, all Kentucky State Parks and the Kentucky Horse Park will be daytime use only.

Kentucky State Parks will be open to the public between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m, while all overnight reservations for park lodges, cabins, and campgrounds will be suspended until further notice and all state park lodges, cabins, playgrounds, and campgrounds will be closed. Golf courses will remain open. All reservations will be canceled and refunds will be issued.

During this time park visitors will have access to park trails and scenic sites.

The Kentucky Horse Park grounds will be open to the public from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. although the Visitor Center and park campground will be closed to the public until further notice. Park visitors can continue to use the park's walking trail.

While visiting park grounds, they issued the following public health guidelines:

1) Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting symptoms;
2) Be prepared for limited access to restrooms and water fountains;
3) Maintain safe social distancing of the recommended six feet separation;
4) Do not congregate in groups at parking lots, trailheads or golf courses;
5) Avoid games that require close contact such as basketball and football; and
6) Move to a different location to avoid crowds.
