McConnell, Paul Speak at Frankfort Tea Party Rally

FRANKFORT, KY - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell is continuing his assault on federal health care reforms, promising to push to repeal them if he becomes majority leader next year.

McConnell and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul made a joint appearance at a tea party rally that drew some 400 people to the state Capitol in Frankfort on Tuesday.

McConnell and Paul have been staunch critics of the federal health care reforms that they refer to as "Obamacare." McConnell said repealing the Affordable Health Care Act will be his top priority if Republicans win enough seats in November to take control of the Senate. Paul told the crowd that the health care reforms are "a house of cards" that takes money from Medicare to give to "Obamacare."

  America is still in a recession and Washington lobbyests lobbing at the GOP convention for big money infeuence throwing lavish convention parties.The GOP convention is bowing to its mega-donors and the lobbyists has gone wild with the delegates.It is nothing but a big party for special interest not for the american people.The cost of just one party for lawmakers was $300,000.00 dollars.The GOP elders descibe high stakes for Romney because of some remarks the republican party has said.Ryan was not a good choice for VP in the republican party because of his public image.Ryan voted for everything that Obama wanted for the american people and now he is opposing everything that Obama has done.Republicans must change for all the people of america not just for their special interest of big money.

  m t. - Romney will probably be bragging next about all the money he and Bain Capital made off of the aborted fetus disposal company he was heavily invested in. Against abortion publicly and profiting from abortions privately.

  Gerald C: Your numbers make things look horrible, until you remember back to 1965 when minimum wage was $1.50 or so per hour, what is it now $7.25? As for unprecidented tax rates well..1918 - cap gains 77%, 1944-45 top tax rate 94%, 1951-64 top tax rate 91%, 1965 - top tax rate 70%. These were the rates for the wealthy back then what are they now? Is it any wonder we are broke? The last two balanced budgets were under democratic presidents, LBJ and Clinton. The last balanced republican budget was Eisenhower. Both parties are guilty of creating our problems. It seems there is lots of complaining about caring for the citizens of our country because of the expense but not many complaints about all of the money we spend killing people in other countries. It seems some don't want coverage for birth control pills or abortions but they also don't want to pay for the unwanted babies that the parents can't afford. Why is it always blame the other party? If you think about it we are to blame for letting things go as far down hill as they have gone. It we had been more interested in our country instead of what party and how much money we want to make we might have noticed what was happening. The next president will probably have a horrendus debt too. When you figure the interest on the national debt, the wars and the fact that the good paying factory jobs are now overseas how could you expect anything but more debt. Those who were once paying taxes on the good paychecks are now collecting because their jobs are gone.

  @ John v AND Gerald C Would either of you quote me in my post on how I feel about either Mitch or Rand policies.. Please Mitch has rolled over to please the Republican money men and I wish we had more like Rand in office so we could cut our debit & taxes!!! can either of you read & understand what you read..Did either of you go to a tea party rally in Paducah or western Kentucky 3 years ago when Rand was running for office. H@ll both my sons I & one was only 16 at the time even like Rand. Both main stream parties are kicking the can down the road & people like you only make it worst by tiring to degrade anyone Not in lock step you & your thoughts/beliefs !!!!!!!!!

  Mitch McConnell needs to go! Please wake up people of Kentucky; we all have a short memory.Have we forgotten Mitch calling Rand Paul a kook. Even though they are both republicans.Paul took his liberty-loving message to the voters in Kentucky and beat back the Republican establishment. McConnell is two faced and just playing politics.

All the while it has been the Democrats who have increased the debt and spending. The National Debt has increased more during President Obama's three years and eight months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency. And yet the sheep will go to the polls and vote for the Democrat while at the same time complaining about the debt. The Democrats who control the Senate where the budget originates have not passed a budget since 2009. They will not even vote on a budget. Here are the facts which I know Democrats do not like to see. The last time the Senate passed a budget was on April 29, 2009. Since that date, the federal government has spent $9.4 trillion, adding $4.1 trillion in debt. As of January 20, the outstanding public debt stands at $15,240,174,635,409. Interest payments on the debt are now more than $200 billion per year. President Obama proposed a FY2012 budget last year, and the Senate voted it down 97–0. (And that budget was no prize—according to the Congressional Budget Office, that proposal never had an annual deficit of less than $748 billion, would double the national debt in 10 years and would see annual interest payments approach $1 trillion per year.) The Senate rejected House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s (R–WI) budget by 57–40 in May 2011, with no Democrats voting for it. In FY2011, Washington spent $3.6 trillion. Compare that to the last time the budget was balanced in 2001, when Washington spent $1.8 trillion ($2.1 trillion when you adjust for inflation). Entitlement spending will more than double by 2050. That includes spending on Medicare, Medicaid and the Obamacare subsidy program, and Social Security. Total spending on federal health care programs will triple. By 2050, the national debt is set to hit 344 percent of Gross Domestic Product. Taxes paid per household have risen dramatically, hitting $18,400 in 2010 (compared with $11,295 in 1965). If the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire and more middle-class Americans are required to pay the alternative minimum tax (AMT), taxes will reach unprecedented levels. Federal spending per household is skyrocketing. Since 1965, spending per household has grown by nearly 162 percent, from $11,431 in 1965 to $29,401 in 2010. From 2010 to 2021, it is projected to rise to $35,773, a 22 percent increase.

  What a joke to have these two people in the same room or even in our state at the same time.. Sen. Paul & Sen. McConnells beliefs are so apart that I know McConnell would love to see Mr. Paul be a one term person. I'd Like to see ol'mitch take a hike and get someone in he's slot to help curb our spending and debt..
